The estate of Andrew Baker

Andrew Baker passed away 10 Sep 1842, ten days short of his 77th birthday, in Laurel County.

Below is the estate inventory followed by the results of the estate sale. The appraised value of Andrew's estate, which didn't include his property, was $227.50, probably a little above average, but considerably less than the value of the estates of grandson-in-law Mills Whitaker and grandson Alfred Warren, both of whom died a decade later in Pulaski County.

Special thanks to Wilma Johnson and Kay Hanna who dug these documents out of the unindexed Will Book 1, pages 250-253.
