This is the valley opposite of where Dyer Branch (behind the treeline) empties
into Line Creek. The photo was taken from Line Creek Road, looking north up the
creek.
At various times, land near the mouth of Dyer Branch was owned by Holbert
McClure, Malakiah Linville, John Linville, William Y Isaacs, William C Isaacs,
William McGraw, James T. and Nancy Roann Cooper Shiplet and Humprey and Matilda
Linville Shiplet.
James T. Shiplet was shot and killed 20 Dec 1889 at the mill that was once
located near here.
