Buffalo Branch Road

The gravel road running through this photo is the Buffalo Branch Road, going from Pulaski to Rockcastle County from Line Creek Road.

The Buffalo Branch of Line Creek and the Buffalo Branch Road cross just past where the road disappears from the photo. They then follow each other closely until the road ends at Hwy 1249, about two miles up.

The land in the foreground is part of the oldest inhabited land I can find in the area. It was originally surveyed in 1799 and has been lived on since that time. Among the owners were Walker Langford, Isaac Mize, Tilman Duncan, James Cooper, and Lum Randolph.

The Cooper Cemetery is about a quarter-mile to the left.

The stand of evergreen trees in the distance on the right side of the photo is where the William and Rhoda Decker land began (see Buffalo land grants).
